Vocational Apprenticeship Program (VAP)

"This is a place where I would always feel comfortable to come. I could not have been happier with the services that were provided to me. Not only have my eyes been opened but I was given the power to want to help and teach others."- Individual served by Community Healthcore

About

The Vocational Apprenticeship Program seeks to provide training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those with behavioral health challenges to prepare those individuals for vocational job opportunities.

The 15-week program is designed to help the individual apprentices learn and develop skills that are needed to enter the competitive job market. These skills will be taught and managed within an integrated support environment and are designed to allow the apprentice the opportunity to grow and gain professional skills that are transferable and marketable.

The support team of employment specialists, job coaches, supervisors and co-workers will provide targeted and individualized feedback to apprentices to aid them as they seek to enhance their skill development, personal strengths and interests.
