Community Health Worker

About

The Substance Use Disorder – Community Health Worker program is a program that links those with substance use disorders to resources. The Community Health Workers help with the harm reduction efforts by providing and educating on the use of Naloxone to prevent opioid overdose. The individuals served are those who use substances and who are marginalized, stigmatized, experiencing housing instability or homelessness, inject substances, or might have an infectious disease. Community Health Workers partner with different agencies in the Region IV area to provide needed medical, housing, mental health, substance use, and food assistance.
